History
Our enterprise was founded in 1874 as Company "Rhein et Co." - Steel Foundry, Zawodzie. Its founder was Machine Building Company "Rhein et Co." with registered seat in Berlin. At the beginning, production basis of "Rhein et Co." Company consisted of forging shop only, in which axis for railway carriages, railway carriages, tools and machines for agriculture were executed.

In 1890 "Rhein und Co." Company was jointed with "Jakub" Steel plant. New enterprise was called "FERRUM" and acted as joint-stock company. In 1900 "FERRUM" implemented technology of pipes manufacturing for feeding water to turbines. This technology based on pressure water gas welding. Pipes made according to above-mentioned technology characterised high strength and their manufacturing was less labour absorbing. Thanking manufacturing of pipes for water power plants, Huta FERRUM became a well-known company executing orders for investors in many countries (first turbine pipeline in Peru in 1902).
After the II-nd World War H
uta FERRUM was included in metallurgical department of national economy. In 60. and 70. Huta was under modernisation process.
During this process line of longitudinally welded steel pipes was modernised. From this time specialisation of Huta FERRUM is manufacturing of welded pipes, pressure vessels and different types of steel structures.
From 90. restructurisation programme started, purpose of which is modernisation of manufacturing process and reduction of dangerous influence on natural environment On March of 1995 Huta FERRM has been converted into Treasure Company. From July of 1997 shares of the company are quoted at Warsaw Stock Exchange.
